The name has changed because the scope has grown, not because the history has been replaced. The original Dwarf Goats entries remain part of the Builder's Log, preserving the progression from early native operating-system work to the current Copper|Null research program.
The physical Raspberry Pi work established the first major public foundation. Native operating-system operation, persistent storage, normal use, networking, remote interaction, and a usable shell environment have all been demonstrated on real hardware.
The research has since expanded beyond the original platform. Apple Silicon-hosted development and test environments now broaden the work without changing the meaning of the earlier physical-hardware demonstrations. Hosted results and physical Raspberry Pi results are described separately whenever that distinction matters.
Copper|Null has also moved beyond a minimal operating-system demonstration. Python 3 now runs natively within the system, and CopperMind provides demonstrated local AI capability within the project.
Native multi-core execution and parallel AI computation across multiple CPU cores have now been demonstrated. The combined environment can complete AI work and return to a usable foreground human session, an important systems milestone for practical experimentation.
The public record states what the system has demonstrated while keeping private implementation details private.
This work is continuing. Current research focuses on extending the operating system, local AI capability, developer usability, supported environments, and practical applications. The aim is disciplined, evidence-oriented experimentation on accessible computing platforms outside a large institutional laboratory.
